Restoring Confidence in Your Equipment

Chemical damage

We have, for many years, been aware of the contamination with chlorides due to PVC components in connection with fires.

However, during recent years we have, with the use of new materials, detected a larger variety of corrosive substances in connection with damage.
Examples are contamination by:

  • Sulphur
  • Ammonia
  • Nitric acid
  • Chloride
  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Phosphoric acid
  Corrosion caused by ammonia

This type of contamination can be caused by a direct release, unintentional chemical reactions or combustion of material.

To investigate the extent of such contaminations AREPA has a HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) unit (read more).

At our laboratory we can, based on surface tests on the equipment, have the chemical components examined on our HPLC unit and the extent of the corrosive components evaluated and thus take the necessary measures.
